Apple ‘Divine’ is a delicious, crisp, and aromatic apple variety known for its sweet yet slightly tart, beautiful red skin. This modern cultivar is prized for its excellent eating quality, making it perfect for fresh snacking, juicing, and adding to desserts. Divine® fruit has a mild sweetness with moderate acidity and light cottony crisp flesh - very similar to Royal Gala. Late summer picking. Best flavoured when refrigerated for up to 3 months. Black spot resistant - so great for organic growing.
Key Features: Fruit: Medium to large apples with sweet, crisp, and juicy flesh
Skin: Vibrant red with a slight golden blush
Pollination: Requires a pollination partner (such as Royal Gala, Initial, Kidds Orange Red, Peasgood Nonsuch, Monty's Surprise, Baujade, Priscilla, Granny Smith and Freyburg.)
Harvest Time: Mid to late season (typically March–April in NZ)
Storage: Stores well, keeping its crunch and flavour for weeks
About the M26 Rootstock. Apple ‘Divine’ is grafted onto M26 rootstock, which ensures:
A semi-dwarf tree, growing to 2–3 meters tall, making it perfect for small gardens and home orchards
Earlier fruiting, often within 2–3 years of planting
Growing & Care Tips: Sunlight: Prefers full sun for the best fruit production
Watering: Keep soil moist but well-draining, especially in dry seasons
Pruning: Prune in winter to shape the tree and encourage fruiting wood
Feeding: Use a balanced fruit tree fertilizer in early spring and again in mid-summer
Apple ‘Divine’ on M26 rootstock is a fantastic choice for home gardeners who want high-quality apples without needing a full-sized tree.
