Supplied as bare-rooted, all plants are dipped into an organic hydrating medium to keep their roots healthy and moist. We take extra care in packaging, using durable and well-supported materials to ensure your plants arrive safely.

Upon arrival, you can store your plants in their unopened packaging in a cool, dark place for up to 5–10 days.

The ‘Katy Cot’ apricot is an early-ripening variety known for its large, sweet, and juicy fruit. It thrives in warm, temperate climates and is well-suited to home gardens and commercial orchards. Tree ripened fruit are incredibly good eating.
Fruit Characteristics
  • Flavour: Sweet with a mild tang, rich in apricot aroma
  • Texture: Firm yet juicy with smooth flesh
  • Colour: Bright golden-orange with a slight blush
  • Size: Large and plump fruit
  • Harvest Time: Early season (December to January in New Zealand)
  • Storage: Good; can be eaten fresh or preserved
Growth & Care
  • Pollination: Self-fertile, but yields improve with another apricot variety nearby
  • Tree Size: Medium-sized tree with a spreading growth habit
  • Chill Requirement:  Well suited to the warmer areas of the country
  • Soil & Watering: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil and benefits from regular watering during fruit development
  • Pruning: Best pruned in late summer to maintain airflow and improve fruiting potential
