Pear ‘Garden Belle®’ is a compact, self-fertile dwarf variety, perfect for small gardens. This modern pear tree produces delicious, sweet, and juicy fruit, making it an excellent choice for home growers who want fresh pears without needing a large orchard.
Key Features: Fruit: Medium-sized, with smooth green skin that may develop a warm blush when ripened in the sun. The flesh is juicy, crisp, and sweet with a classic pear flavour.
Tree Size: Naturally dwarfing, reaching only 2–2.5 meters, making it ideal for pots or small spaces.
Sun Requirements: Prefers full sun for the best fruit development.
Pollination: Self-fertile, meaning it will produce fruit without another pear tree nearby. However, planting with another variety may increase yield.
Harvest Time: Mid to late summer, typically February–March in New Zealand.
Watering: Requires consistent moisture, especially during flowering and fruiting. Ensure well-draining soil to prevent root rot.
