Our Chrysanthemum Plug Plants are supplied in a 3cm x 5cm coir and peat plug.
When you receive your plugs, either pot them up or plant them out into their permanent positions. Water as needed, but take care not to overwater. For the best results, protect young plants from snails and slugs.
Chrysanthemum ‘Bill Wade’ is a stunning variety known for it's full bloom early display.  This cultivar is prized for its elegant form, long-lasting flowers, and strong stems, making it perfect for cut flowers and floral displays. Suits the mid garden border as it grows to about 1.3m in height.

Blooming Period: January to March
Growing Options: Can be grown in the ground or in pots

Characteristics:
  • Flower Type:
  • Colour: White
  • Bloom Size: 13cm depending on cultivation and disbudding
  • Bloom Time: Typically flowers in January to March in New Zealand
  • Growth Habit: Upright, strong stems, making it great for cutting and floral arrangements or the middle of the garden boarder. Height 1.3m
Cultivation & Care:
  • Pruning: Give a light tidy up during the active growing time in October to December.
  • Fertilizing: Balanced slow-release fertilizer (such as Novatec) with additional potassium (e.g., sulphate of potash) as buds form
  • Pinching/Disbudding: Pinching in early November encourages mulitple stems, leading to blooming 12 to 14 weeks later.
  • Disbudding gives favourable results, it is worth experimenting.
  • Support: Needs staking or netting to prevent stems from flopping, especially in windy areas
  • Watering: Consistent moisture but well-drained soil to prevent root rot
Uses & Special Features:
  • A favorite for cut flowers.
  • Suitable for horticultural shows with careful cultivation
  • Works well in bouquets and floral arrangements.
  • A good early garden display.
