​When you receive your plugs or 7cm potted plants, either pot them up or plant them out into their permanent positions. Water as needed, but take care not to overwater. For the best results, protect young plants from snails and slugs.
Chrysanthemum ‘Bon Voyage’ is a striking and elegant variety, celebrated for its large, spidery yellow blooms. It’s definitely one to experiment with disbudding, as it responds well and shows off its strong, well-founded petals beautifully. The plant itself is a vigorous grower, making it well-suited to the middle or back of the garden border where it can really stand out.

  • Pruning:

    • Apply sulphate of potash leading up to flowering for improved bloom quality and colour intensity
  • Pinching/Disbudding:
    • Early pinching encourages more branching
    • Disbudding (removing side buds) helps develop larger, more refined blooms
  • Support: Staking or netting is recommended to keep stems upright, especially in windy areas
  • Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but well-drained to avoid root issues
