Chrysanthemum ‘Lemon Bunty’ is a cheerful and reliable cultivar, admired for its bright colour and tidy form. It produces neat, medium-sized decorative blooms in a fresh, clear lemon-yellow that softens slightly as the flowers age. An early-flowering variety, Lemon Bunty provides blooms outside the traditional autumn chrysanthemum season — and the bonus is, it flowers twice! After the first flush, simply prune back the stems and the plant will reward you with a second display in March to April, often with blooms of a richer, deeper colour.

Blooming Period: December to March

    • January pruning to encourage bushier growth

  • Fertilizing:
    • Balanced slow-release fertiliser (e.g., Novatec or Osmocote)
    • Additional potassium (sulphate of potash) before flowering to enhance bloom quality
  • Pinching/Disbudding:
    • Pinching early in the season encourages multiple blooms per stem
    • Minimal disbudding is needed
