Iceland Poppy ‘Springsong Improved’(Papaver nudicaule) is a delightful cool-season performer, prized for its luminous, satiny blooms that seem to glow in the garden. This improved selection of the popular Springsong series offers stronger stems, larger flowers, and a more uniform crop — ideal for both cut flower growers and cottage-style gardens.
The blooms appear in a radiant mix of soft pastel shades — cream, lemon, apricot, salmon, rose, and white — each with a golden centre that catches the light beautifully. The finely divided, grey-green foliage forms a neat rosette at the base, giving rise to slender stems that sway gracefully in the breeze.
A cool-climate favourite, Iceland poppies thrive in early spring and autumn plantings, producing a long succession of cheerful, fluttery blooms. They’re especially valued for their vase life and delicate texture in floral design.
Growing notes:
Height: 30–45 cm
