Our Chrysanthemum Plug Plants are supplied in a 3cm x 5cm coir and peat plug.
When you receive your plugs, either pot them up or plant them out into their permanent positions. Water as needed, but take care not to overwater. For the best results, protect young plants from snails and slugs.
Chrysanthemum Orange Bi-Colour is a garden chrysanthemum that has a more bushy  growth habit which is very resilience and gives a long-lasting garden displays. Can be used for garden-type bouquets.

Growing Information
​Blooming Period: March to April
​Growing Options: Can be grown in the ground or in pots

Characteristics:
  • Flower Type: Garden double
  • Colour: Red, bronze, or orange to yellow undertones.
  • Bloom Size: Medium 
  • Bloom Time: early to mid autumn (March to April in New Zealand)
  • Growth Habit: Bushy, ideal for cut flowers and garden display. Height 1m
Cultivation & Care:
  • Pruning:
    • January prune for shaping and strong branching
    • A light tidy-up in February to remove weak shoots
  • Fertilizing:
    • Use a balanced slow-release fertiliser like Novatec or Osmocote
    • Apply sulphate of potash leading up to flowering for improved bloom quality and colour intensity
  • Pinching/Disbudding:
    • Early pinching encourages more branching
    • Disbudding (removing side buds) helps develop larger, more refined blooms
  • Support: Staking or netting is recommended to keep stems upright, especially in windy areas
  • Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but well-drained to avoid root issues
