Important Information for when you are purchasing Trees and Shrubs from us:
Our trees and shrubs are shipped as bare root plants, meaning they arrive without containers. They will be in winter dormancy and may not have leaves, unless they’re conifers. Before packing, we dip all plants into an organic hydrating medium to keep their roots healthy and moist.
We take extra care in packaging, using durable and well-supported materials to ensure your plants arrive safely.
Upon arrival, you can store your plants in their unopened packaging in a cool, dark place for up to 5–10 days. Alternatively, you can remove them from the packaging and plant them directly into their permanent positions.
The Benefits of Bare-Root TreesUsing the bare-root method allows us to ship plants at a lower cost while ensuring their health and vitality. Bare-root trees, grown in open fields, tend to develop more abundant, fibrous root systems compared to container-grown trees. As a result, they establish more quickly and often outgrow larger containerized trees within just a few years.
To maintain their health during transport, we dip the natural bare roots in an organic hydrating medium, keeping them moist and protected. To ensure they arrive in peak condition, we ship them in a dormant or "sleeping" state—after they have experienced 2–3 hard frosts—so they are well-prepared to endure winter conditions.
